Hi, everyone!
I haven't posted much on the June 2013 weddings(my wedding is June 1, 2013), but I have appreciated the advice and opinions that have been posted! I decided that it was time I contributed too:)

Last week my mom and I went dress shopping and I FOUND the dress! It has everything that I want!!Today, I just got a call that my dress came in..ALREADY. They told me it would probably take 6-8 weeks. How soon should I do my first fitting? Obviously I have over year before the wedding, I just don't know when I should go.

    I think usually you start thinking about alterations about 4 mo before your wedding, so I think you still have some time.  :)

    I would go off the advice of whoever is doing your alterations, but I dont think you have to worry about any fittings until the beginning of next year.

    I would wait as well.  Over the course of a year, all kinds of stuff could change with your body, it would suck to have to pay for more alterations.

    Congrats on finding your dress!  I'm going in a month or two and can't wait!!

    Congrats on finding your dress AND getting it in already. I have to say I'm jealous :) I can't wait to go dress shopping! I would also wait for the fitting. I agree with PP's you never know what could happen in a year and you do have plenty of time. But so excited for you!

    I agree on waiting for alterations. Talk with a seamstress to find out when you shold start. Congrats on finding your dress!! I'm going in July and I'm super excited. Oh, and we're date twins!

    Congrats on finding the dress!! When I bought my dress, they said to call about 6 months before the wedding to set up the fittings, so I'd say you've got time. Do you have a picture or a link to your dress?

    I agree with PPs I would talk to the seamstress and I also think it depends on the style of the dress, how many alterations they think will need to be done, how busy they are, etc. My best friend is getting married June 2nd of this year and she didn't have to do her dress fitting until April.

    Thanks for the advice! I called the shop today and they told me that I can come up and see it but not do the alterations part yet:) So, I'll probably go up just to make sure it is the right one!

    I agree wait at least 4 months before. I got my dress and tried it on and fits. But I had a baby before that and now got to either stay the size I am or less.
