Re: Hump Day Wednesday

  • Dear Broke,

Please go I away. I do not like you, we are not friends, and you have over stayed your welcome. Please go visit someone else as I can not get anything done while you are here.

    Thanks
    A very frustrated Bride

  • Confession: I just yelled at the little girl I'm babysitting today and now she's super mad at me... and I think a little scared too because she won't come near me. I don't generally lose my temper with the kids, but I guess I'm having an off day. I apologized for yelling and I hope she will forget about it once she takes her nap.

Also, I'm going to the doctor today and I don't want to get on the scale because I've gained about 5 pounds and I don't want it recorded. I'm going dress shopping next week and I really would like to lose 2 or 3 pounds before then. Unfortunately, I'm sick so I can't really work out.

I hate when I do this too, I always feel super guilty afterwards too. It definitely doesn't happen often, but we all have off days. The good thing about kids though is they have short memories, do something fun with her when she gets up and she will be fine. ;)

Angelstar, you could lose 2-3 lbs in water weight in one week, but not 2-3 actual lbs in one week. The gym has no effect on that. What you weigh is 80% what you eat, 20% working out.

If you want to feel better before your dress shopping, just cut out salt and eat clean (vegetables, fruit, etc.) for a few days and your scale will show that you weigh less (even if it's just bloat). :) Plus, fruits and veggies are good when you're sick anyway.

I have a lot to vent about but it's not really worth typing it out. FMIL issues.

Yeah, bloat weight would honestly be better than nothing... I don't have much weight to lose... less than a size (clothes are just a tiny bit tight) so changing my diet would probably solve my issues fairly quickly, it's just so hard to motivate myself!

Sorry to hear you're still having issues with your FMIL... is it still stuff with the shower or did something else happen?

Now it's the rehearsal dinner. She's basically telling us we can't invite all of the people from the rehearsal because she wants there to only be 5 tables of 8 (40 people) despite the fact we told her we'll need 45 AT THE OUTSET WHEN SHE ASKED (bridal party, +1s, immediate family only). She doesn't want 45 because then there will be 3 empty seats at one table which "looks bad" to her. She also hired a photographer, florist, etc. for the RD. I think honestly she's trying to upstage the reception, which is really sad.

And it's a not a money issue - she's just being controlling. It's a lot more complicated than that, but it's not worth the explanation. She's just a crazy person sometimes.

  • Before I vent I'd prefer to start positive so...yay for nice weather! I hear it's going to be 70 degress tomorrow. I'm ready for flip flop weather already!

Ok, now my vent. It really ticks me off when people ask about planning and when I (happily) disclose my planning the response is, "Oh, you haven't booked this or done that yet?" Grrrr.....planning is stressful enough without extra people offering their opinions on the planning process. The only upside to this is that it annoyed me enough today that I am extra pumped to go to the gym and take the new kickboxing class. (I might picture a few faces lol.)

Wow. That is pretty nuts. My FMIL made it clear that the RD is her party and she'll have it where she wants to because "it's the only thing she gets to do." Which is honestly fine... I don't care much about it and I'm sure she'll do a nice job. If she hired a photographer or florist, I'd have to raise my eyebrows though. If she told me I couldn't have some of my guests though, I'd be pretty pissed.
