what do you think??

I definetly do not want "Here Comes the Bride" when I go down the aisle. And I just didnt want any song..something that meant something to me,or that I actually like, you know? Well I got someone to play the piano lined up,and I was looking for something she could play, and I suddenly remembered I LOVE the piano solo from Titanic(1997) it's called "Rose's Theme".Do you think this would be ok to walk down the aisle to? Here's a YT link if you need a listen:

I certainly dont want to jinx myself if that would be bad luck..Im not a very supersticious person...just want to know what others thought of this idea, would it be ok...
 thanks!

Re: what do you think??

  • I can't listen because I'm at work, but I think if you like the song and it's purely instrumental, it isn't a big deal what the song was originally for.

FI and I are walking back out to "If I Were A Carpenter" by Johnny & June.  It's totally not "wedding" at all, but I don't care

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • I love that song too...and I don't think there's anything wrong with choosing it at all.  Unless, I guess, you have people in your family who really hate Titanic or something?  :)  Or if you're getting married on April 14, which would be a little much?

ETA: I just looked at your wedding date- I think you're fine; my point, in case you didn't already know, is that April 14, 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking, so people might think you were, like, trying to make a point if you picked that song, for that day.  But you're a week later, so you should be good.  :)
  • Yes.  It is beautiful piece of music
  • Though that I had posted this, but it seems to have disappeared, so sorry if it ends up double posting or something.  I love this song and I think it's a great choice- just note that April 14, 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking.  Since your wedding's a week later than that, I don't think it's a big deal, but if it were the 14th, I think people might think you were trying to do, like, a Titanic theme or something, even if you weren't actually.  As far as superstition goes, though, I wouldn't worry at all- it's a beautiful song.  :)
  • thanks for pointing that out(about the 100 yr anniversary).I had thought of that too..its a sad note in time.I just love that song so.Maybe it'll just have to be coincidental!! =) thanks everyone for your thoughts!!
