Parents - Attendants?

My fiance and I have been discussing our wedding party and who we would like to have as attendants.  He is very close with his dad and I with my mom so we even threw out the idea of having them as best man/matron of honor.  However we know that our parents would probably feel uncomforatable in these roles and we aren't sure that is what we want either.  We do know that we want to make our parents feel very special and important at the wedding.  Any thoughts on how you included your parents or made them an extra special part of your day?  Just trying to get some ideas...

    I think the simple fact that they are the parents makes them automatically an extra special part of your day, and if you want them as your MOH and Best Man, I think that is lovely.

    My DH originally had his dad in mind to be one of his GM but his father had mentioned that he would be more comfortable as the FOG. No harm in asking if that is what you and your FI  end up leaning towards.

    My uncle was a GM (maybe even the best man? I don't remember) at my cousin's wedding a couple years ago. You should at least ask how they'd feel about it.

    There is no reason why parents can't be attendants for their children who are getting married.  By all means ask and see what they say.  If they do say no, respect that, but it's totally okay and lovely if they say yes!
