did you let your florist pick?

did anyone just give their florist a color they wanted their flowers to be and let him/her just make up a bouquet? if so, did you love it? like it? hate it?

I'm not exaclty sure what I want. I know i want a light pink flower, but not sure what ones. I was thinking of letting my florist just pick them and have it be a surprise. just wanted to know if anyone has done this and was pleased.

I work in the nursery industry, so I kind of know what I like and what I don't like...but at the same time I trust my florist.  I printed out a bunch of "inspiration" photos to give him ideas for what I like and am giving him free reign from there.  Also, think about if you want all one flower in all the same shade, all one flower in different shades, or different flowers in different shades!  Just something to think about!  Here are a few I like in your color scheme!

I found that when I was looking at pics of wedding bouquets, none of them even had my favorite flower in them.  I took in some pics I liked and mentioned the colors I wanted (colors ranging from white to light pink including cream, ivory, blush) and my florist is running with the idea. Good Luck.

I knew that I wanted my two bridesmaids to carry yellow calla lilies, and my MOH to carry yellow and white calla lilies. So, I knew that I wanted white calla lilies and then some blue and yellow in my bouquet, but other than that my florist gave me ideas! She put together hydrangeas, spray roses, calla lilies and delphinium. I can't wait to see it!

Definitely let your florists' creativity show. This is what they're best at!

I had no idea what I wanted.  I just told my florist my colors and that I wanted it to have a "soft" look.  She had me fill out a questionaire that had me list all of my favorite flowers and she put it all together.  I was in love with my bouquet.

I think i will just tell her what colors and flowers i like and let her do her thing!

I would definitely suggest some guidance...colors you like, flowers you like, shape of bouquet you like, etc. Some pictures of what you like rather than trying to describe makes it a lot easier too...I know this from potted plant arrangements that I do!

I told my florist the color of flowers and the shape of bouquet I wanted, and just told her to use whatever was the most inexpensive/in-season.  Flowers are pretty much my lowest priority as far as wedding details go, so I really don't care what she uses.  Still got a little more than a month to go, but I'm sure they'll look great.
