June 2012 Weddings

Veils...

So this past weekend I found a veil that I really love, the problem is that they called me today and told me its not going to come in until approximately the end of May!! My wedding is June 22, and this makes me a little nervous.  I kind of wanted to have my veil for my fittings in April but I dont know if this is going to happen.  What should I do?? Should I try to find a veil elsewhere or do I just place and order and hope for the best????

Re: Veils...

  • Decide how bad you want it. I got a perfectly fine veil at valuveil for $12 & had it within a week or 2. Nothing fancy of course but it all depends what you want.

If you buy and and it doesn't come in in time can you get your money back?  If you really want it I would say go for it but keep something in mind for back up.

I ended up having to get 2 veils the one I completely fell in love with only came in ivory.  So I bought the sample of a cathedral length veil but it didn't have a blusher so I bought another inexpensive one and they are going to put them together.

  • If you have pictures of it, you can try asking someone else to make a very similar veil.  Either try a local person or check out Etsy.  You might be surprised with what you can find.
  • I definitely suggest checking out etsy!! I had my veil custom made on there and Leigh did an incredible job!!

Here's a link (clicky) to her shop. She'll work with you on pricing as well as when you need it by.
  • I'll second the reccomendation for valuveil.com (yes, it's spelled incorrectly). Great quality and price.

What kind of veil is it?

  • Hi date twin!  I agree with what others have said and try etsy.  If you are set on that exact veil though, I'd get it and for your fittings just use one the store has that is similar (if you are having a bridal salon do your fittings).
