Asha Vs. Moissanite?

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this board. My FI is going to upgrade my tiny e-ring to either an moissanite or an asha stone. Does anyone have any experience with asha? I've heard lots about moissanite, but I think asha is a better choice. Please let me know if you have any advice or recommendations. We plan to order from either moissaniteco.com or ashadiamonds.com

They both have the set I want. Here's a link to both: asha: http://www.ashadiamonds.com/product_ring_info/asha-rings-wedding-sets-c-1_10/round-asha-diamond-wedding-set-p-1204

Moissanite:

TIA!

I've had both, and I personally prefer my Asha. My moissanite (even enhanced) just showed too much color for me.

Also, MoissaniteCo and AshaDiamonds are both owned by the same people, so if you see a setting on one and not the other, you can still order it.
  • Can you provide pictures of the two side by side? I was planning to get the enhanced moissanite but then I heard about asha. Asha is also cheaper.

I'm just worried that over time, the asha will become cloudy because it's still a cz under the coating.
  • Check your private messages. :)

Also, the reason why CZ get cloudy is because it's reacting with oxygen during daily life. Since Ashas are coated, they aren't exposed to oxygen, so they don't get cloudy.
  • Thanks so much!

[QUOTE]Don't mean to complicate things for you but have you considered white topaz? My BFF told me about it and it's a good alternative too. <a href="http://www.engagementexperts.com/cheap-engagement-rings.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.engagementexperts.com/cheap-engagement-rings.html</a> Problem with CZ is it is way too soft to be in an e-ring and will chip and crack over time. Moissanite is almost as hard as a diamond so it will last a lifetime. <a href="http://www.diamond-buying-made-easier.com/diamond-simulants.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.diamond-buying-made-easier.com/diamond-simulants.html</a>

CZ is has the same hardness, if not harder, than white topaz. Topaz has a a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale while CZ has a hardness of 8-8.5.

Plus Ashas have an amorphous diamond coating to help prevent scratching. As for chipping, all stones (including diamonds) can chip.
  • I have a moissanite e-ring, and I absolutely love it :) Everyone is shocked when I tell them it isn't a real diamond
