Day of Catering Concern!

Ok ladies -- i'm getting concerened about going over budget on the food.. When I placed my catering order i gave a head count of 60 people ( we havent sent invites out yet) My question is what happens when the wedding day comes and I have more people show up than what i paid for? Its a buffet dinner... but i'm concerened about owing the cater money for unexpected extra guest.... does anyone know how that is handled??? Thanks

    You will owe them. You need to ask the caterer if they take a head count. If you are worried about extra people showing up then have your DOC do a list so that uninvited guests cannot enter, only have enough tables and chairs for invited and RSVPd guests, and add 2 -3 to your guest count.

    In my experience most people end up having no shows and there for have 5 or so unused spaces of ppl that RSVPd

    Yea I ended up paying for more people then who actually came and we had leftovers!

    Final head count a week before the wedding. We had to be paid in full before our caterer came. A few people who were "Yes" ended up not showing so we didn't get a refund for them not being there. We just ended up taking back some leftovers.
