AW: Vendor Reviews

Hey everyone!  So I haven't been on these board in quite a long time, but I just had my wedding last week and I had such an amazing experience and I wanted to help out whomever is looking for vendors or reviews. I literally had amazing results from everyone:

invitations: our family friend has her own stationery store that she runs from her house.  i would absolutely recommend her to anyone who is looking to order stationery

Location: Omni William Penn Hotel...it was amazing.  Corey was our contact there and he did such an amazing job with everything!  The food was great too!  The rooms were beautiful.

Ceremony Music: Steve Vance Strolling Violins--they sent out "Crystal Strings" (String quartet) and the music I heard sounded lovely!

Reception Music: Cityscape from Three Rivers Entertainment (live band).  OH MY GOSH, THEY WERE FABULOUS.  All of our guests were raving about how wonderful the band was and everyone was shocked that it was a Pittsburgh band because they sounded too talented to only be from Pittsburgh.  If you want a band that is not only beyond talented but also energetic and gets everyone up on the dance floor, then this is the band for you!  I will note that they are expensive ($7k-$10k) but if you can afford it, this is the band you want.

Florist: Blooms (in the strip district).  The flowers were beautiful.  We had a Jewish wedding and they decorated and set up the huppah, which was gorgeous.  The bouquets and boutonnieres were lovely and the centerpieces were perfect!  The flowers were big, freshly flown in.  The centerpieces lasted over a week!

Photographers: In Vision Studio (Steven Barry).  Steven & his wife were great to work with!  My mom picked them out after a recommendation.  Their work is amazing and I am so excited to see the proofs!  They have different packages available depending on your needs and budget

Makeup Artist: Clare Lozano.  She was recommended from previous Knot posts.  She did my makeup, 6 bridesmaids, and 2 mothers.  WOW.  Everyone looked amazing.  People were coming up to me all night to tell me how amazing everyone's makeup looked.  I love doing makeup and I toyed with the idea of doing my own makeup on my wedding day, but I wanted all my girls to look nice, so I figured a makeup artist made sense.  I am so glad I decided to have Clare come.  She does freelance makeup work...uses manly MAC and sephora brand makeup.  She came to the bridal suite at the hotel and did everyone's makeup.  She does airbrush foundation if you want it.  She does a free trial run for the bride.  I am so glad I had Clare!    Her e-mail is clarelozano@hotmail.com

Wedding Cake: Fenoglietto's...we had a chocolate cake w/fudge filling, buttercream frosting, and then fondant on top of it all.  The cake was freaking delicious...even the fondant (which usually tastes awful)!  You can look at pictures of other cakes, give them the picture, and they will replicate it.  I had a lace pattern on my and I just loved it!

Cake Topper: I had one handmade to resemble me, my husband, and our pug.  It is awesome.  If you are looking for a cute, personal, cake topper, check out her work!

I think that's all for now!  If you have any questions, feel free to PM me!  Goodluck to everyone!
