How long?

How long do you really think you need to plan a wedding??? :)

Re: How long?

  • I know our guest count will be about 200 and we are wanting to stay in the 15k budget.
  • 6 months?  I'm wishing I had only a 6 month timeframe to work with rather than 18 months overall.

  • I think it depends on the type of wedding you want, the vendors you want, time of year, location etc... I know around here more people plan for around 14 to 12 months if they want a summer wedding. My cousin is getting married in October and is planning everything in about 9/10 months.

  • Ditto PP, it really depends.  In my case Im lucky I started so early because our venue is seasonal and only open like 6 months out of the year (and naturally books up fast).  If you are determined you could do it in less than 8 months but you will be in for some stress in finding vendors that aren't booked up.

  • We were going to wait to plan most of our wedding but found out that a lot of our vendors fill up fast so we quickly started planning just to be on the safe side.  That being said I have known people that have planned anywhere from 1 month - 10 months before.
  • Like, cummulatively?  I've been planning my wedding since last October, but it's not like I'm in constant wedding mode.  I go weeks without doing anything, and then maybe I'll do a bit of research here or there.

  • I'm thinking about a year! I'm doing stuff slowly.
