Tulips...

I'm trying to figure out what kind of flowers I want my BMs to carry. I want to do a mix of white and yellow tulips, since they're my favorite flower. However, in Oct. they are our of season ($$) so I don't know if I want everyone to carry them. Any suggestions of a type of flower that goes well with the look of tulips and comes in yellow?

Just do a few of tulips in the bouquets and fill in with roses, gerber daisies, lilies, or whatever.  I had tulips in my bouquets (pic in married bio) if you want to look.

You can usually order most flowers year round.  If they are out of season, then they might cost a little more.

You can always use the tulips as an accent, with just about any other flower.  Roses, peonies, gerbers, callas, lilies, daisies, ranunculas, etc...

But I agree with the previous poster that suggested yellow callas.  The mini ones would probably be easier to work with, and are of a similar size as tulips.  Personally, I love the look of tulips, but I don't really like working with them that much, they droop a lot, and it's hard to control what they do.

I want tulips to be a focal point in my October wedding, but had been warned from friends that tulips are really expensive that time of year. I talked to a florist and they mentioned that tulips are more expensive in October, but still cheaper than other flowers. In their growing season they are really cheap. If you want tulips I'd say go for them.
