What should I do if i'm not using a ring bearer?

We are not having a traditional wedding party, it will be very small. I am having my best friend as my MOH and my fiance is having his dad as his Best Man. No groomsmen and no bridesmaids, however all of our parents and his sister with her husband will be sitting at the Wedding Party Table in front of all the guests. What i'm trying to figure out is something interesting in place of a ring bearer since we will not have anyone doing it. Any ideas????

A ring bearer really isn't necessary. My MOH carried H's ring, and his BM had mine.

I would just have the best man or MOH hold on to the rings until you need them. Besides a ring bearer, I don't know if there's any other way to "showcase" the rings before you actually exchange them.

We didn't have a RB. The MOH held H's ring and the best man held mine. You could also have the officiant hang onto both of them.

Usually the RB doesn't even carry the real rings. They're just for show (most people aren't comfortable leaving hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry with a five year old). I've seen lots of ideas: holding each others on your thumbs. Giving them to your best man and maid of honor. Tie them to your bouquet. Wear them on the wrong hand. Take your pick.

Yeah, most ring bearers don't carry real rings-- they are little plastic ones sewn onto the pillow. I have never seen an actual case of a child handling the real thing. Just leave it out-- nobody will notice or care. We didn't have any children in our wedding.

Yeah, our RB didn't have our actual rings on the pillow. My sister (MOH) had H's ring on her thumb, and H's BM had my ring in his pocket. If you don't have a ring bearer, then you just don't have a ring bearer and can still decide who holds your rings.

Ditto that ring bearers are optionl and the best man can hold both rings, or the best man can hold the bride's ring and maid/matron of honor can hold the groom's ring. As much as we paid for our rings, I'm not sure I would trust a young child with them!

Best Man carried rings.

Alternative for a RB, if you have/want one, could be him holding a sign that says "Here Comes The Bride".

Check out a "ring warming" where your guests each hold your ring and it is passed through the guests to you and your FI during the ceremony rather than brought down the aisle by a single person.

We're doing a tiny guest list and no attendents, but we really enjoy the idea of having each of our guests bless/put good thoughts into our rings.

When I was a flower girl, I also carried the rings once (another time I was paired with a ring bearer). We're not having a ring bearer, and we will probably just have the MOH and BM hang onto the rings until we need them

We are not having a RB or a FG. The BM will be carrying both rings, just like my FI carried his and my sisters when he was BM for their wedding. We are having a big outdoor wedding with no children invited.

We are not having a ring bearer either. As the children's choir director at our church, we keep running into the problem of, "if you ask one kid at church, either the other kids, or the parents are going to want to know why they weren't picked." So our flower girl is the grand daughter of a friend at whose daughter's wedding I was the flower girl. Anyway, my plan is the have the rings tied to the handle of the fg basket and hanging. I don't have any problem having the fg do this, as she'll be with me until right before the ceremony, and our rings will not be very exspensive. Otherwise, just have the best man carry them. Maybe have some pics of the rings on display at the reception as part of a photo display if you want to show them off.

We aren't having a ring bearer, but our pastor suggested this to us. He did a wedding a few years ago where the husband drove the rings down the aisle on a remote control car. He kept the remote in his jacket pocket. Apparently it was quite adorable.
