Wearing ivory to a wedding..

One of my good friends text me yesterday asking if it would be okay for her to wear an ivory dress to my wedding. I didn't know what to say. She said it's "tight". Should I just say ok wear whatever you want? WWYD?

    I don't think ivory is appropriate to wear at someone's wedding. I would tell her no if it were my wedding.

    I dont think its appropriate to wear at a wedding either but tell her she can wear what she wants but if she gets nasty comment about what she's wearing thats her doing.

    I think if she does wear the ivory, the other guests are going to look at her like she's crazy. That's not your problem she doesn't have common sense. She should be thinking "If I have to ask if this color is appropriate, then maybe it's not at all."

    If I saw someone wearing an ivory dress at a wedding, I would definitely side eye it and wonder what the heck she was thinking.

    A European friend asked me if she could wear ivory to my wedding. I told her that I didn't care (because I don't), but that other people might side-eye her.

    Depending on your guest list and how often this is "done" in your circle, even if you don't care, it might put her in a position where others notice her and critique her decision more than they would otherwise.

    My personal comfort level goes up to "princess crown"--I'm not wearing a crown, and I hope that none of my guests will show up in a crown either.

    At least she asked you. Just tell her that you think people will side eye her if she does and that people don't typically wear white/ivory to a wedding.

    Thanks, that was what I was thinking but I didn't want to seem b*tchy. I said it may not be appropriate and there were some pretty traditional people that would be there. She said she had a couple others to choose from so hopefully she does. I forgot to mention that my dress is light ivory lol.
