So upset! Stone missing!

I just discovered a stone missing from my e-ring yesterday! Not only did I just get it (April 2nd!!!) but the insurance info has been sitting on my desk since and I've completely ignored it! My fiancé will be so upset because I did just get it and because I've ignored the insurance packet!!!

I'm so upset because I try to be so careful with it, but I do find myself knocking into things all the time!! I know it's decent ring because I know what he paid and I know he did a lot of research, he's not cheap but I told him to be practical and not break the bank!!!

What should I sooo? Go to jeweler and complain since it's only been 3 months! Or try to get insurance and put in a claim in a monthhhh!!

  • Is it a small pave set stone? Those tend to be glued into place, so you are going to want to get going on insurance. A lot of girls complain about how frequently they lose those stones and it's usually is because they're glued not pronged, not because of ring quality. If the stones small it may cost less to replace it yourself than pay the deductible. Call and find out before you jump into a decision. Sorry you lost one =(

  • That is what happened for my coworker. Complain first.

  • A stone fell out of mine within the first week of me having it.  I went into the store and told them and they were super understanding about it.  It usually isn't a huge deal at all.

Sorry it happened to you!  It really does suck.
  • does the store you bought it from offer some type of warrenty on it (outside of you adding it to your homeowners policy)? where we bought my ring from (included in the purchase) covers anything that happens to the ring, shy of me actually losing it.

since its only been a few months, i would think that even if they don't offer some type of warrenty on the ring, they should be able to do something! good luck :)
