  You'd be surprised how many of your guests (both in town and out) will not only appreciate a earlier heads up, but also NEED it! My uncle and also my FSIL (both in town) already booked trips out of town during our wedding month and were calling me to confirm our wedding date so they wouldn't miss it... and that was a few weeks BEFORE I sent out my Save the Dates on the 8 month mark! 

  
  

  Send them now! Or at least by the end of October. You will be glad you did.
