Springwood!

Hi I am new to the Knot so I am not all that sure how everything works just yet, but so far I love all the assistance!  My fiance and I are getting married June 25, 2011 at Springwood Conference Center in Verona, Pa.  I would love to hear of any other brides that are planning the same venue, as I am trying to decide on a package and don't know where to begin?  Does anyone have any suggestions on whether or not to go with a package that includes flowers?  Or go for the DIY?  We are trying to stay in our budget, but I don't really know what to expect to pay for flowers??  Thanks much :)

Congratulations on being engaged!  We'd love to hear more about your plans for your wedding.  I don't know the average for flowers, but I can tell you I'm paying around 900 for my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 10 bouts, 15 centerpieces, an alter piece, flowers for the cake, and 3 corsages for the moms, grandma.  Just to give you an idea!

Welcome and congrats! I don't know much about Springwood, except it's incredibly $$. I can't think of anyone on the board having their reception there, but I may be wrong.

I looked at the Springwood, however it was WAY out of my price range.

If I remember correctly, the flowers seemed very expensive.  However, I'm doing my own flowers/buying from Sams Club.

Sorry, I'm really no help!  Best of luck!  Can't wait to hear more details about your wedding! Congrats!

Welcome and congratulations!  I don't know anything about Springwood, sorry.

I would recommend that you set a budget based on the total amount you have set aside for your wedding, and break it down from there.  The Knot has a handy tool to do this for you, if you want.  Most wedding budget helpers recommend spending a little under 10% of your budget on all the flowers for your wedding, so this might be a good guide to see if the flower plan you have been offered makes sense for you.

Congratulations! I don't know much about Springwood either, but just wanted to say Hi and Congrats!! My wedding is May 28, 2011 so we're close! We're having ours at the Carnegie Museum in Oakland.... Springwood looks absolutely lovely though!! Good luck!!

I also looked at Springwood, but it was way out of my budget.

I thought with the packages you had to use their flowers, or still pay for them... a use them or lose them deal?  I wasn't crazy with their centerpiece options. They seemed friendly and the venue is beautiful!

    Good luck planning and congratulations!

Thank you so much ladies!  I really appreciate the feedback!  Yes unfortunately it is rather pricey, so we went with the basic package to start with which actually does not include flowers.  So I was hoping to do those on my own and save some $.  This site has been so helpful and so have you all!

I too am looking into Springwood but have a long drive to get there, everyone is saying it is extremely pricey which worries me and I don't want to waste my time, can anyone tell me about how much it is for the basic package. Thanks
