Photosharing Sites

This was posted on my local board as well but I was wondering what site you ladies may have used for photosharing of your wedding pictures.  Did you find one site more user friendly for guests to upload their photos? Or is there a site that has better resolution of the photos?  Any suggestions or advice is welcome.  Thanks!

Re: Photosharing Sites

  • We used Shutterfly and are very happy with how we were able to arrange pictures, order photo books, etc.  My aunt was pretty much the only other person to upload pictures, but she found the site really easy to use.

kodakgallery is my photo sharing site of choice.  I have ordered prints from kodakgallery, Snapfish and Shutterfly, and have always prefered kodakgallery because of print/image quality.

There is a catch.  Kodakgallery isn't like flickr or photobucket.  It is mostly a site to share your slideshow (with the option to order prints) with close family and friends; you email an invitation for them to view your album.  However, I have recently shared a slideshow of a recent trip to the general masses on a travelsite.  In order to do this, at least the way I did it, was send the invite-to-view to my own email address WITH the option-to-require-sign-in DESELECTED/UNCHECKED.  The email received has a public-accessible link to the slideshow, which you can post on the knot or any other board or wherever.

Sorry, that's a lot of words, but in the end, it comes down to the fact that I always use kodakgallery because I trust the quality, and I don't want to upload pictures to more than one website like flickr, photobucket, etc.

  • We didn't do the photoshare thing, but I might make a book with all of our HM pics.

I have only used Shutterfly & Snapfish and have been happy. However, a few girls on my month board had a lot of good things to say about Kodak as well.
  • We made a shutterfly share site with all of our pictures, and then sent an invite to family and friends.  Shutterfly is pretty idiot-proof when it comes to uploading pictures and ordering, so I figure it will be pretty easy for others to figure out.  We just set it up this morning though so nobody else has added yet.

  • We used www.theweddinglens.com but honestly, it was a waste. The only people to use it have been my BMs. Everyone has just posted them on facebook. We're thinking about putting a note on the website or something to direct people to the site so we can get some of those pics.
