Catholic Engaged Encounter A MUST!!!!!

Hi fellow brides,
My fiance and I just came back from the Catholic Engaged Encounter in Santa Barbara. Let me just tell you, if you are thinking about going, GO!! It was so valuable, fun, refreshing, and just an amazing experience. Even if you are not Catholic, this is such a great weekend retreat to prepare you for your marriage. I'm not an overly religious person, but this was just awesome. Please please please  at least check it out.

Ya know, I really got to disagree.

I am Catholic, and was super excited about it. My fiance is not Catholic, so I wanted to kinda show him we are not all crazy.

I ended up being upset when we got to the topic of birth control. I knew the church's position, and disagreed on the get go. Having the priest tell me I was immoral and rejecting the love of God by using a condom frankly pissed me off and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Really?  Immoral? We are talking a condom, not an aboartion.

Anyway, I went because I had to and was glad to leave. My fiance had discussed and talked about everything before hand, and if anything, it united us against my faith, not with it.

I Really enjoyed the Weekend. It was a great time for my now Husband & Myself to spend some qualoty time away from the planning process & Refelect on our relationship.
Although we had already discussed the majority of the subjects that were given to us, it was a great reassurance that we were in the right path.
I highly reccomned it to any engaged or even married couples.

We're scheuduled to go the weekend of Nov. 5 down in Orange County. I'm more nervous than excited to go, I've heard some mixed reviews.

I went and it was awesome! It really is for all couples. They focus on the relationship and you would be amazed at the topics that are discussed. You get alone time with your fiance and we both cried! We came back more in love! I recommend it to all couples regardless of religion or no religion.
