Venues near Sacramento, Ca

Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone has any comments on these venues I'm looking into.

Taber Ranch and Newcastle Wedding Gardens

I'm not getting married until May of 2012, but I figured I need to reserve soon since May is very popular!!!!

I'm really leaning towards Newcastle Wedding Gardens right now, but both places are great and would be perfect. Let me know what you all think and any recommendations on other venues are welcome as well.

Thanks!

I don't have experience with either of them - but from what I've heard there are quite a few girls on the boards who were going with (or wanted to go with) newcastle wedding gardens.  I like the look of Taber Ranch, but they are crazy expensive.

Some venues won't let you book that far in advance. While may is a popular wedding month, 2 years in advance is a bit far out. You also might find that you change your vision of how you want your wedding to be. I'd wait until about a year and a half out to book anything. A year should be fine as well. If you were going for memorial day weekend or another popular holiday weekend that's a little bit different.

I am not super familiar with Taber, but we really wanted to go to Newcastle...from what we could tell it looked gorgeous. I also agree that 2 years might be too far out and that your vision might change. I know mine definitely did.

There are also some really pretty wineries in Amador County and Plymouth, if thats the kind of look you are going for (I have seen some out there that are similar to Newcastle and Taber). It all depends on what kind of feel/look you want.

Ummm. I am in love with Newcastle. We were going to have it there, she was booked for the date we wanted but suggested a new one. So we took four whole days to think about it, since it's pretty pricey...and there had been another couple looking at our date (which she didn't tell us) and they booked it two days before we did. Awesome.

Had she told us there had been another couple, I would've booked it then and there. I loved it.

We're getting married at the Arden Hills Spa & Resort.

Although the newcastle wedding garden is beautiful I have heard that the owner is extremely difficult to work with and for the prices that they charge there i would expect much more.  I have had an event at the Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill.  It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! While still a little pricey it is so private and secluded it is the perfect place to enjoy YOUR day!! and the staff is wonderful!!  I am getting married at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, they were more budget friendly while maintaining the beauty and elegance I was looking for.  Good luck!!

Britney do you mind my asking. What was the food and beverage minimum for Lake Natoma inn?

<div>They had different packages depending on the room you wanted and the day of the week. I think the room with the chandeliers and the draping was around 10k or so. </div>

There was no food or beverage minimum at the Lake Natoma inn.  We are getting married in the Grand Pavalian ( the one with the chandeliers and the draping)  It was 1500 to secure the room.  The only minimum that they had was at least 50 ppl.  But the room is HUGE so any less than that it would look empty.  They have all sorts of food options to choose from. We are doing an all hors. reception.  Also instead of choosing a beverage package we decided to just have 3 bottles of wine per table (our families don't drink much but we wanted to give them an option).  We are having 84 guests.  I hope this information helps

We had our wedding reception at Mulvaney's B&L. the food was amazing. We rented the space next door for only $100. It was perfect!  I don't have photos of the space, but I will once we get the photos from our photographer (another 6 weeks or so).

Visit our website.  Also, they are really easy to work with!
