Hey Brit,
Thanks for offering your insight. Can you just give me a quick rundown on what you're doing for the reception? Are you having the ceremony at LMEC also? What menu did you choose from John Michael's? Are you bringing your own liquor (I think they allow that)? I think LMEC is top of my list right now because of the price and all it includes as well as it is a gorgeous location. I need to make a trip out there to look in person though. John Michael's seemed to have the most appealing menu to me and their prices are awesome. I am planning on an outdoor ceremony and really want the reception as close as possible to the ceremony location. We are looking at about 100 people and are trying to do the wedding for as little as possible (hopefully about $7000-$8000). I work in a hotel, so I have alot of connections that will allow me to cut corners though. We are looking at April 8 or 10, 2011, but the final date will be partially determined by the venue and also possibly by the honeymoon plans. All the week long cruises in April out of FL leave on Saturday, so I really don't want to have to go back to work for 5 days and then honeymoon. :) Thanks for the info and letting me blab a little. The Knot is saving my FI and my family from listening to me talk wedding all the time (already!).

haha. You're welcome! I told a friend of mine that just got engaged that if she wanted to talk wedding stuff with me that I would love it because it is really fun for me, so don't worry about it. I am doing my ceremony in the rotunda and the reception in the grand ballroom. If you haven't gone to look at it, you will fall in love when you do! You could have your ceremony on the lawn, it is beautiful out there. I'm having mine inside because I don't want to deal with the June heat. I'm doing mine on a Friday and my cruise leaves Sunday after that. So, I think that a Friday wedding and a Saturday cruise would work, there is no way I would want to go to work for a week and then take my cruise either! lol.

For John Michaels, we decided to do chicken parm as our entree. That is both of our favorite and what we ate the night he proposed. We are doing a 4 cheese ziti and veggies for our sides, along with a salad and rolls. We are also trying to keep our wedding costs down since we are both in college and don't have much money. We decided to have only one entree (which saves us $4 per person). And, if you go in with a budget in mind, Michael will definitely work with you. He has offered some suggestion to help trim the cost. I think our per person cost for food is now down to $19.50. For drinks, you pay a pp fee of either $4 (if you only want beer and wine) or $7 (if you want an open bar) and then you bring in the alcohol you want served. That fee covers the cost of the sodas and drink mixes, etc. I think you will really like Michael. He is great! Also, an added bonus is that he is trying to be green and uses organic food.

So, I think I answered just about everything you asked. If you have any other questions or just want to talk about different options there, you can page me here or email me at my display name @aol.com. Good luck planning and let me know what you pick!
