Re: Knottie of the Week - fancywright2

  • 1. First Name & Fiance's First Name: Lancy & Matthew

    2. Your Birthday & Age and Fiance's Birthday and Age: Lancy: August 13 - age 42 and Matthew January 9 - age 39 (almost the big 4-0!)). Yeah, I'm a cougar, lol!

    3. City Born In? Wiesbaden Germany (I'm a military brat. Dad was in the Air Force and we moved every 2-3 years)

    4. City Live in? Lawrenceville GA

    5. Where did you go to college? Alabama State University - home of the Mighty Marching Hornets!

    6. What was your major? English (was Computer Science, but I decided that I might be bored all day, so I switched to English)

    7. What is your current job? Media Supervisor on the AT&T account

    8. What is your dream job? I would love to help people organize their homes, closets, lives, etc. Some people might say I'm a little anal about organization, I say I'm very efficient. I love organization and I think I can help people clean out the clutter in their lives and re-organize their things.

    9. How did you and your fiance meet? Matthew and I met in 2004. He was working at a media agency and I started working at their sister agency where they shared the same office space. We were both involved with other people, but were friendly acquaintances. We didn't start dating until 2010.

    10. When did you get engaged and how did he do it?? February 11, 2012. We celebrated Valentine's Day over the weekend since the 14th was on a weekday. He came over to cook me dinner (mini crab cakes and bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers, steak, creamed spinach, and whipped potatoes)and brought cupcakes from my favorite bakery. Before he started cooking, he wanted to sit on the sofa and relax. I didn't think anything about it - I just thought he might've been tired from running around all day. Instead of sitting next to me on the sofa, he sat opposite me if that makes sense. He then started telling me how much in love he is with me and that he can't see his life without me in it. Then he pulled the ring out of his pocket! It was absolutely beautiful!! He told me that it was his grandmother's ring and that his mother had given the ring to him to give to the special person in his life. And then he asked me to marry him. Needless to say, my answer was YES!

    11. When is the Wedding Day? April 20, 2013

    12. Where is the ceremony and reception? Buford, GA at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center

    13. What are your wedding colors? Lemon & Lavender

    14. Where are you honeymooning? We're going on a 7 day cruise. Leaving from Puerto Rico and going to St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.

    15. Favorite wedding vendor so far? Our caterer! They've been absolutely wonderful!

    16. Biggest wedding splurge? Caterer

    17. What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't? Nothing. I think we're all set with everything we wanted

    18. Another knottie wedding you'd like to attend? Everybody's!

    19. Favorite book? I like Janet Evanovich's books. Romance and suspense genres are my favorites.

    20. Favorite movie? The Best Man, Love Jones, Sweet Home Alabama, Five Heartbeats, Coming to America. Even though I own all of these movies, anytime they're on TV, I watch them! LOL

    21. Favorite tv show? Scandal, Shark Tank, any food cooking shows (which is ironic because I don't like to cook!)

    22. Favorite wedding dress designer? Don't really have a favorite

    23. Any advice you can give? Plan early! And then you'll have time to relax and coast the last couple of months before the wedding.

    24. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding? No

    25. Share something about yourself! I love Broadway shows! Rent and Wicked are 2 of my favorites. I can't wait to see Book of Mormon when it comes to Atlanta next year.

    HI Lancy!!!!!!

I need an online consultation. Fiance calls me a hoarder in training. I have a HAAAARRRRD time just getting rid of stuff. I got jeans from 2001 thinking "one day" or this the shirt i wore when..... and i'm completely UNORGANIZED. whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!?!??!

How did you guys keep in touch and find out that you both were single????

Do you see the jealousy on my face right now!!!! Your fiance cooks and i'm GREEN WITH ENVY!!! sounds delish! I take it he's the cook in the house and handles meals?

omg'osh!!!! I love those Janet Evanovich books, I tried pitching it to sultry, I don't know if she ever downloaded one. did you see the movie? What'd you think? I think the movie doesn't to the books ANY justice. and they got Morelli 100% wrong, ranger was ok, lula - they should have gotten monique but i think they did a great job on vinny! that was spot on!

Do any of you guys have kids? plan on kids?

    Nice getting to know you!!

My family still calls me Denise though.
