videographers

I know when my sister got married, my grandmother recorded it on video.  I was thinking that i would have my grandmother record my special day but i wanted to hear what others thought.  good idea or bad?

Thanks!

<div>Honestly, I wouldn't bother.  Let grandma enjoy the wedding instead of watching it through the video camera.  If you really want a videographer, hire one.</div>
  • I agree. If you want video, don't have family record it. Coming from a videographer's point of view, though I enjoy shooting weddings for family, I do feel left out as I want to enjoy in the celebration with the guests and my little family rather than being behind the camera! Do some research and find someone within your budget. It you are looking for a high quality video, plan to spend no less than $2000 for 8 hours of coverage.
