Hello! I haven't been on here in forever and, in fact, it wouldn't even let me log on to my account (does it shut you out after a certain period of time?). My screen name was JVenezia (without the 2) before. Anyways, I got married on April 24 in Boston and have been meaning to post reviews forever now and am just getting around to it now. I found the reviews so helpful when I first was planning so wanted to do the same for others. Any questions, feel free to ask- we had the best day!
Vendor Reviews Part 1
DJ: DJ Michael Dinsmore, A+
Michael was WONDERFUL- he really below us away and kept everyone on the dance floor. After we first booked him, he wasn’t as responsive as I would have liked but I had heard that from other brides so it was not unexpected. He ended up being one of my favorite vendors, as we was extremely engaged at our meeting a couple weeks before the wedding and just did a tremendous job- all of our guests raved about him. He was also integral to the flow of the night and was very organized. Would recommend him to anyone!
Reception: Hyatt Regency Boston Common (1 Avenue De Lafayette), A+
We had the most beautiful wedding at the Hyatt. We booked before the whole house-keepers debacle and were obviously stressed when that happened. Jennifer and her team worked tirelessly to ease our concerns. Every step with the Hyatt was wonderful, from the amazing private tasting they did for us and our parents, to answering every email/phone call I had, to the perfection that was our day of, we couldn’t have asked for more. We’ve heard from many of our friends that the ballroom was the most beautiful ballroom they’d been to in Boston and one of the nicest weddings they’d ever been to. They did renovate the ballroom with new colors and carpet and, while I preferred the ballroom before, it was still absolutely beautiful and worked out fine. They even kept the wraps off the chandeliers upon my request. Highly recommended- we found them the most reasonable in Boston to boot!
Florist: Jen Cahill, The Tangled Web, A
Jen has a great reputation here and for good reason, she is very reasonable and very nice. We really liked the flowers she did for us and would recommend her to anyone.
Cigar Roller: Cigar Factory, Marcia Weaver, A+
This was such a hit with our guests and the Cigar Factory did a great job. If you have some room in your budget and outdoor space (the Hyatt has an amazing terrace so it worked out well), we would recommend this. Marcia’s staff even gave my husband a keep-sake cigar box with cigars that we brought on our honeymoon.
Transportation: Brewster Coach, B
While the limo bus was really nice and they were great all the way up to the day-of, the limo bus was over 20 minutes late to pick me up from the hotel to get to the ceremony. Luckily, we had a Catholic ceremony so there was a time gap between the ceremony and the reception so it didn’t ruin anything but it was frustrating waiting around when I was ready on time and then being late for my wedding because of them. If we didn’t have this time gap, they would have gotten a much lower rating (same with photographer). I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending them to another bride because of this.
Church: St. Theresa of Avila, A+
Beautiful church, very long aisle! This is my husband’s family church and they obviously did a fantastic job. The whole choir sang for our mass, which was so amazing. Love St Theresa’s!
