Budgeet woes

Budget shrunk due to cut backs at work so trying to re-evaluate what our wedding and honeymoon plans are.  Doesn't help that the honeymoon looks like it will be twice what we expected.

Trying to figure out to pay less but still have good pictures and flowers.  Anyone have ideas they can share?  The wedding is in Pierce County.

Thanks!

No raise for both my fiance and I brought us back to the budget.  I can completely empathize.

We're doing Blue Ribbon Cooking, which includes the floral.  However, I did see floral kits on Costco.  Maybe check those out?

Good luck!  And I'm going to tell you what everyone is telling me...it will work out!  :)

Our photographer is great and very reasonable.   Our wedding is in Tacoma, so I'm sure she can travel to wherever yours is.  For $1400 you get an engagement session, plus a full day of wedding day coverage.  We just did our engagement session and loved our photos!  Anyways, if you are interested, check out her blog http://fionagrantblog.com/

For pictures, your best bet is to find someone who has some experience and a good portfolio but not a ton of experience (it seems photogs raise their prices yearly and in some cases, bi-annually).  Ashley Hoyle takes some beautiful pictues and I know her 8 hour wedding package runs about $1,000 and includes an e-session.  http://ashleyhoyle.com/

For flowers, if you can keep it simple and DIY, I would look at Costco or another one I've heard good things about is www.fiftyflowers.com. A fellow knottie who got married last summer ordered half her flowers from Costco and half from Sams Club.  Let's just say Sam's REALLY let her down and she was scrambling at the last minute.  After pricing my options out and meeting with (literally) several different florists and getting quotes from nine, I used The Perfect Petal designs http://perfectpetaldesigns.com/ - ultimately it probably cost me $200 additional to have Sharon do the flowers vs. DIY, but to me that amount was worth saving myself the stress and hassle.  HTH!

Metropolitan Market and Costco have both done beautiful flower's for a friend's wedding. I'd check them out for sure. And good to know about Sam's Club!

Not sure where you're planning on going for your honeymoon, or what month you're getting married, but we are doing a cruise to Alaska. They are def reasonable since most food is included. Drinks and excursions are extra. The cruises are only in summer and run around 1500 to 2000 for two people. They leave from seattle waterfront. We didnt want to spend two whole days out of our hm flying. Everyone I have talked to said the Alaskan cruise was yheir fab vacation they had been on:)

Check out safeway and fredmeyer for floral as well as cakes, I have heard that the quality depends on the experience of the person working at each location, but I have had a lot of reccomendations for both of them
