Cheapest and nicest invitations

I was wondering where, either in person or online did you find the most affordable wedding inviations. Also, any advice on how to keep the prices down?

Re: Cheapest and nicest invitations

  • Watch Groupon and Living Social for a VistaPrint coupon.  They regularaly have them for either $17 for $70 worth of product or $10 for $50 worth of product.  When you use them you get 30% off site wide but can NOT take advantage of "free" offers with the group discounts.  People regularly post Groupon/LS "PSA" on both the budget and DIY forums when they're out.

I ended up getting all my stationary for about $40 including shipping.  They're not ultra high quality/luxury (i.e. not pocketfolds, no ribbons or embossing) but they're perfectly lovely, imo and the price came out to way less than I expected.
  • Vistaprint for sure, especially if you use a LivingSocial or Groupon voucher. They frequently have either $15 for $50 or $17 for $70 vouchers on LivingSocial :-) Also with those vouchers, Vistaprint usually offers a 30% sitewide discount and if you spend a specific amount over the voucher value- you get free standard shipping.

    HTH!

  • I managed to get mine from Michaels with several 40% off coupons. They usually have those coupons every week or so. I bought 120 invitations for just under $60, and they were the BRIDES collection from michaels which were very nice. The construction and printing were not hard at all either.

  • Ditto to Paper Depot!

We're making ours! I got all the paper for the invites & RSVPS + envelopes for about $60.

They have a ton of examples to give you some ideas. I made my own mock-up, but they looked like they were busy making mock ups and helping others out with ideas.

    Good luck!
  • I got mine from 123print.com.  I loved them. They were unique. They offer free shipping and free envlopes. I also always get emails for 15% off.  So I got 100 RSVP, and 100 invites with envoloes for 72.00.

    You can also get samples.

  • I got pocket folds from Cardsandpockets.com, along with the invitation mat, bellybands and matching envelopes.
I ordered the actual invitation and inserts from Vista Print.

<div>Michaels has a coupon this week for 50% off a nonsale item (on their website) and next weekend has both a 50% off single non-sale item and 20% off your entire purchase including sale but NOT including clearance.  I'm planning to use the 20% off for smaller ticket items (buttons, small ribbon spools etc) that aren't worth individual trips for the 50%.</div><div>

THIS!  I took the invitation class offered by the Paper Depot.  Then I stayed after and they helped me work out the design I was looking for.  They made sure I got all of the materials I needed.

  • I used half off Michaels coupons on their Brides kits and my invitations ended up being about $0.80 each. They were really easy to customize with my own fonts and layouts, and printed nicely. I was really really pleased with them.

  • We ended up buying ours at Target but 123print is another good option!
