Veils - how much is too much?

So, what's the story with veils? I went to a headpiece and veil trunk show and a very plain simple veil that was 2 layers - 42" in the back and 34" in front with no rhinestones or embellishments, no trim was quoted to me at $350! Are they always this expensive?

Also, I've seen some online sites that sell veils. They are around $100. Is it OK to purchase a veil at an online shop, or am asking for trouble?

$350 seems ridiculous to me. I'm having a hard time spending $100 lol. The veil I really liked was like $160 but I just saw one today for $100 I might get.

I would try Etsy....there are a lot of simple plain veils on there if that's what you're looking for. I've seen some nice beaded ones as well, but nothing that was similar to the original veil I wanted, so I decided to not order off of etsy.

I got mine on Esty. It's fine. It's a little birdcage for $17 + shipping.

If I had seen the DIY instructions earlier I might have tried that. But the time+cost of getting to the fabric store, finding a decent comb, and the couple of hours of swearing and agonizing...$17 seemed worth a shot to me.

I also wanted to see if I liked that, and whether I would or would not want a decoration on it. I'm kind of test driving it. It's working so far.

Venus Veils on Ebay has beaded edge and rhinestone veils in the $20 range. It's at least worth a look!

I bought my veil from ValuVeils, they have an ebay store, but I ordered mine straight from their website and I love it. It was less than $20 after shipping and it is a fingertip length drop veil with pearls.
