Spin-off of perfume poll: Wedding Day Lotion?

When I get kind of hot after putting on lotion, I tend to sweat off the lotion I have on and it gets all sticky/wet/gross.

I want my arms and shoulders to look healthy/not dry, but I don't want to get overly sweaty, either.

Do any of you guys have good lotion recommendations? Are you going to wear lotion? My skin tends to look kind of dull if I don't put lotion on, so I am not sure what to do.

  • I have super dry skin (it's a family curse), but i don't like my skin to get greasy, either. I use Cetaphil everyday and it is fantastic and not greasy, even on humid/hot days. I'd try it out before the wedding to see if it works with your skin -- wear it on an especially hot day and see if it works?

  • I've tried every lotion under the sun and the only one I use on a daily basis is Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing lotion.

I apply it after I shower.

  • I wear lotion all over every day. One of the worst feelings in the world to me is unlotioned skin, so I will definitely be wearing it on the wedding day. I was using Curel Intensive for extra dry skin but it is pretty heavy and does get a little slick in the heat. I just recently picked up St. Ives for extra dry skin and I'm loving it! It's thick enough to moisturize but isn't as heavy. And it smells great, really clean.

  • I use Jerkins Ultra Healing lotion everyday and I love it. I can't stand unlotioned skin either so I will def. be wearing it on the wedding day.

  • I wear random ones I get from the drugstore, so I can't recommend any specific one. My tip to avoid greasiness is to put the lotion on RIGHT after you get out of the shower. That locks in the moisture from the shower so you have to wear a little less lotion. Your skin will still feel moisturized, but not greasy. Just make sure not put on too much, or it will just slide all over the place, lol.

  • I have very dry skin and wear lotion every day even in the summer. For the wedding, I have a matching body milk that came with my perfume, so I think I will wear that.  Have you ever tried body milk, butterfly? It's super lightweight and not greasy at all.

  • I have eczema and the only lotion that works and keeps breakouts from coming back is Aveeno. I've used natural crap and all sorts of stuff but aveeno is gentle. I know what you mean by the sweatiness. I get the same way but aveeno doesn't cause that at all. It's like it soaks right in and doesn't sit on the surface.

  • thanks for the feedback, guys!! I will check some of these out, it sounds like the aveeno is a winner for sure. This was such a weird/embarassing thread for me to start, hahaha. I am sure we will get even weirder as our weddings get closer ;)
