XP: wedding bands

First: 7/15/2011

Last: 9/11/2011

just a heads up... we stopped in the jewlery store where my engagment ring was purchased to look at bands < we found what we wanted but did not purchase yet > and the women that works there < same women who helped my fi with the e-ring> told us that the price of gold is going to have  a very large increase at the begining of 2012 so we should really purchase them before then so we dont have to pay for the increased pay! My fi already knew this but she said it might even be 30% increase! !!

IF YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE YOUR BANDS I SUGGEST GETTING THEM BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2012!

[QUOTE]Patty, the price of gold is going up almost every single day.  I'm not sure why she would tell you that it's going to be an increase of 30% by a certain date, because quite honestly that makes no sense.  No one can predict where the markets are going to be at a given time.  I'm sorry, this is just really weird to me because I'm a jeweler.  Gold is going to continue to go up, as is platinum, so I would absolutely recommend "locking in" your bands now by putting down a deposit, if you've already chosen them.  Good luck!

i know the price is going up... she said Taccori raises their prices  every year in jan. that they already did a mid year price raise that was not something they normally do but they always do one in january! i posted this on my month board and others< not in phila /> said they were told the same thing about the price increasing in jan when they went looking. Is it just a trick they are using to get people to buy so they can meet their quota?

[QUOTE]It can be.  Tacori probably does have scheduled increases (I'm not a Tacori retailer, but do carry other designer lines).  That said, with gold skyrocketing it isn't impossible to think that they'll implement another price hike before the holidays.  One of my designers is requiring us to call for pricing before quoting customers, and another has updated their price list THREE TIMES this year.  It's new territory for everyone.  Like I said, if you have the option to order now by placing a deposit, they should have to honor that price.  I hope it works out for you!  :) ETA:  The 30% thing still seems fishy to me, though.

thanks for your advice! we plan on ordering very soon

I don't think Tacori prices go up in January.  I have a Tacori engagement ring and we purchased right before their price hike on March 1.  I did a lot of reasearch and never heard anything about a price increase in January.  I could be wrong, but I highly doubt they'd increase prices twice in a couple months.
