Reception on a budget....

Hey ladies,

I am looking to do an AHR after our October destination wedding.  We don't want to spend a lot.  Does anyone know of cheap or free venues?

Thanks!

start with church halls and vfw/knights of columbus halls. they typically have the lowest fees. also you could look into condo or apartment clubhouses. they are often free for residents to rent out.

Anyone you know have a place with a large backyard? You could always host a backyard BBQ or something, even though it may be a little tricky if you plan on having it in October right after the wedding.

Columbus Parks and Recs has several inexpensive buildings you could rent out. I would check their website for locations and occupancy levels. http://parks.columbus.gov

I second Columbus Parks.  90% sure that is where I am going to have my wedding shower.  The shelters start at $60 from 9ish(?)-5:00 and go up from there.

I am so glad you posted this. I was about to make a post with the same question. We're having a really nice destination wedding with less than 25 people. We want to come back and celebrate with all our friends locally. I know I want it to be informal but still a place where we can dance. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Keep 'em coming ladies!
