alterations

Hey Ladies,

I live in Brookfield and am looking for a reputable person for alterations. I am willing to travel.

Also, the wedding is October 30. When should I start with dress fittings and alterations?

TIA!

I'm not sure that I recommend mine yet, but 2-3 months out you should start the process.

I am using the woman at Amelishans and she is harder to get an appointment with than a doctor.

Becky's Custom Sewing in Bay View is highly recommended on this board and by me! She's personable and a perfectionist. She was quick to tweak any little thing that wasn't quite right. Her prices are awesome as well.

I just got married last weekend, and had my last fitting a couple of days before. Becky even told me to call her on the wedding day if any crisis came up, as she's been known to pack up her sewing machine if needed. It doesn't get much better than that!

I also had Becky alter my dress.  I won't know until this weekend how the bustle holds up, but I was really impressed with her and how well she could alter a dress in such little time!

My bustle held up fine but was a little long in the back so it dragged. While dancing, I felt like I had to hold up my dress to keep people from stepping on it. I don't know if my sister didn't tie it tight enough or if Becky could have shortened it more. GL!

You could also try Caron at Caron's Bridal Alterations. It's in Stonewood Village in Brookfield. I just had my second fitting appointment with her and she does a wonderful job and has reasonable prices. I had my first appointment about 4 months before my wedding.

2nd for Caron's Bridal Alterations.  I tried calling Becky multiple times and never got a response back.  Caron did a great job and was very patient with me.
