Caterers??

Anyone have any advice for caterers in Rhode Island?? Good food at a reasonable price for a plated dinner reception. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

You will get alot of great advise on this topic.  I had Russell Morin and LOVED them.  My guest still talk about the food and of course the chocolate truffles they passed around.  I know of Plantations, Glorious Affairs and Blackstone which all have great reputations.  I am sure there are more but RM is my experience and the other 3 I have heard great comments.  Good Luck!

I used B & M Clambake - obviously they do more than clambakes. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I met Mickey for a complimentary tasting and choose a number of apps for our cocktail hour. I also used Jacky's Galaxie for authentic Asian cuisine. Yes, I had two caterers and they were both great!

There are some ideas on menus. I used the drop off delivery service from B & M but they offer full service catering too. Pricing ideas is also available for Jacky's

I am using Blackstone. We checked out Russel Morin's, Plantation. Atomic and Blackstone.
I liked the service I got at Blackstone. I don't have a huge budget , but it wasn't that small either- and I felt that brushed me off because I wasn't spending a lot (and our budget is 120 pp)... and diidn't want to do all the elaborate stuff.
Danielle at Blackstone wasn't like that at all. She has been great.

I honsetly think about the Sage Chicken I tried at Blackstone often, and have tried so many times (and failed) to make it. We aren't having that as a dish at our wedding- but it was insanely delicious.

    They were super nice.

I am also contemplating using BnM for our reherseal. They are really affordable and have been so flexible and accomodating. I haven't tried their food yet- but other ladies will tell you it was top notch!

We're using Blackstone as well.  Russ Morin is also amazing (been to many events that they have catered).

Karen at Blackstone is our contact person and she has been unbelievably patient and flexible with me (a VERY indecisive bride) and they are making it work for us.  Nearly fell out of my seat when I tried some of our selections at our tasting they were so yummy!

    Good Luck!

I'm going for a tasting at Blackstone next week! I hope it's great -.Karen has been so great and not getting annoyed that I email her every couple hours with questions. Also, she pays attention to me even though my wedding is over a year and half away - other places have told me I'm not a priority right now, which I think it kind of rude.

I've also been talking to Russel Morin, who I thought would be ridiculously expensive, but they have a "classic wedding menu" with a more limited selection of entrees and hors doeuvres that is very reasonably priced and still has all the necessary stuff for me - passed hors doeuvres, seated dinner, open bar, etc... Has anyone used this classic menu form them? Was it as delicious as the more expensive custom made menus? Did you still get all the great service they are known for?

i've also talked to Emery's who is very well priced, but their menu is not as exciting as others...has anyone used them? Are they delicious?

I would highly recommend black stone catering as I've been to many weddings that used them.
