Stuffing Envelopes

Is there a certain way this is done? I know everything goes in the inner envelope but is there a standard order or just throw it all in there? Thanks!!

I have:
Outer Envelope
Inner Envelope
Invitation
Reception Card
RSVP card and envelope
tissue paper
directions

what type of invite do you have? any pockets or ribbons securing the rsvp and directions?

if not.. I can't comment on tissue because I didnt use that but we did it this way.

Rsvp face up placed under the flap of the rsvp envelope.
    - we placed that ON top of the directions and tucked both into a ribbon at the back of the invite.
    - Then the invite was placed in the inner envelope with the front of the invite facing the back of the envelope so they see ur invite as they slide it out.
-Inner envelope was placed in outer with the FRONT of the inner facing the back flap of the outer so when they open the outer and pull out the inner, they see their names.

    hope that makes sense :)

We just have standard card style invitations.

Thanks for the tips...I never thought about the inner envelope having the names facing out so they see them. Still not sure about the tissue paper....

We had the invitation (flat panel with a backer and bow/knot thing), on tope we put the Hotel Info card, then the RSVP Envelope with the Reception Card then RSVP Card face up under the flap. Then in the inner envelope.

We did it similar to Starmusica...
Directions card on bottom, reception card, then RSVP envelope with RSVP tucked into flap.  I took that whole thing and put it on the BACK of the Invitation, wrapped it with a vellum belly band, and put the invitation into the envelope with the invitation facing the flap.  We did not have inner envelopes.

It should generally go biggest to smallest. The invite is the biggest, usually the RSVP is the smallest but not always.

The tissue paper is an old thing from when the ink might smudge. It goes directly over the actual invitation so the piece of top of it doesn't smear. It's not necessary but then again, a lot of what we put in an invite isn't :)

The tissue paper goes over the invite.

ETA: oops Karen's already said that!

I got a cheat sheet with my invites starting with the top and working down

response card tucked under flap of response envelope
    reception card
    invitation
all of that in the inner envelope and as said earlier with the flap of the inner envelope facing the back.  I can't remember where the dir./acc. cards were supposed to go, i.e. before or after the reception card.  I doubt anyone will care one way or the other.  It's not like they're not going to go to your wedding because the envelope faced the wrong way.  :)  Good luck!
