Scriptura RAVE

Ordered invitations today at the on one Magazine street.  The lady there was SO helpful.  She took as much time as we needed, listened to all of my suggestions and helped me to make decisions on things that I was unsure about (etiquette-wise).  I had an amazing experience and would rec them to EVERYONE!... Invitations were a top priority for us and I am very happy so far.  Can't wait to see what they look like in a couple of weeks!!!!

P.S.  They are a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

I went to the one in Metairie and they miss quoted us. They quoted us for less than half of the items than we wanted so we cancelled our order. They have high quality items, but I couldn't spend $800 on save the dates, it was just too much. (People just throw that stuff away) They also wanted to charge me for design consultation when I never changed the design except for the paper color, and I picked the colors on my own.

I think they have a great product, but the miss quote, by such a HUGE amount left a bad taste in my mouth. When a quote goes from about $350 to $775, how does the person in the store not notice the discrepency? I know she wasn't new because she was there when we first went months before to speak with them.

They lost our business for our invitations and other party invitations that we would have purchased.

</div><div>I am sorry that you had such a bad experience.  Very different from mine, though.  Their items are high quality and unfortunately if your budget is only 300$, it definitely wouldn't be the place for you.  Where did you end up getting yours?  Glad you are happy with whoever you went with :)

I went to Scriptura Uptown and it was AWESOME. It was the one thing I really splurged on and I have gotten compliments for the last year.  I loved my invites =)  Margaret is the best, and she did give incredible etiquette advice and just advice in general.  She actually suggested a custom invite that ended up being so pretty that it was the inspiration for the whole wedding.  Highly recommend.  I didn't know they had a Metairie location and I am sorry Kate had a bad experience. =(

We got them at an online vendor in the end.

I am well aware that their items are high quality, I have a background in graphic design.I wouldn't have paid that for a STD, but I would pay more for invites and would have possibly used them for that, but after the misquote, by more than 1/2 I will not be. They quoted me for 60 instead of 160. I just don't see how a mistake is made like that when you do that for so long. (We chose a popular design)

Personally, I don't care how much money you have $800 for STDs is too much, for something that people will just throw away, especially when you will be sending out invitations as well. Invitations are something that should be splurged on a little more, but STDs, not $800, never.

There are better things to spend money on than pieces of cardstock. Just my opinion, giving others on here another view.

Ultimately, Scriptura was outside our budget, but our consultation was fabulous, and they have great products. I just wasn't willing to cut our guest list for invites :( but I do love them !

I am very happy that msot of you ladies had great experiances with them. They carry soem great lines and do some amazing work.

But Honestly I understand where you are coming from Kate. I went to the Uptown store and although the front was nothing but nice to me. It took forever to get anyone to help me with invitations/save the dates/engagement party invitation. I was the only one in the store for at least 10 minutes and no one helped me. So it wasn't like they were all consulting. Even a we're busy we will be with you in a minute (the front desk girl was great though. Sh was on the phone for most of this and nice as could be when she got off - but it was a long phone convo.). There wasn't even anyone on the floor for me to go to and ask for help. I almost just left, but I did want to see what they had.

Even after they "helped me" it wasn't really help they dropped a few books in front of me walked off and never came back. I was infuriated. I have done a lot of graphic work and I know that the work is worth the price in many cases. And whoever I picked for my engagement invitations I was planning to stay with for my entire wedding, Well they sure changed my mind quick. Wedding Bells down the street was much more helpful. They let me stay in there for hours going over books and giving me quotes and tips. They also fed me and gave me drinks, and who can complain about that. If I don't do my own invites at this point I am going back to them.
