Hawaii Honeymoon

Does anyone have any suggestions on doing an all inclusive trip?? Where to stay?? We are going to fly with American Airlines because we already have a voucher for part of our flights.

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon

  • I don't know about American Airlines, you might try looking on Expedia or something. My trip was booked through Costco Travel. We are going to Lahaina, Maui and it's not all inclusive but we got a lot of extras included. We have a rental car for the whole week, a $200 food and beverage credit, a couples massage, a sunset dinner cruise, a luau, daily breakfast, and free parkikng.

  • If I remember correctly, there are no all inclusives available in Hawaii.  We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui and the Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island.   Both hotels were very beautiful and right on a nice beach too.
  • There are definitely no all-inclusive options in Hawaii.  That said, you can book package deals through travel agents, CostCo Travel, etc. that will include hotel/air/car rental.  Some hotels also offer daily breakfast.

  • No AIs in Hawaii. As others have mentioned, CostCo Travel has some really good deals (we priced out a trip to Maui for 8 days with hotel, airfare and car for just under $4000). You do have to be a member, but I think membership cost for one year is $55. Might be worth it to get a good deal on travel. Also check places lie Travelocity, etc.

It is also usually cheaper to do a condo than a hotel because you can grocery shop and cook some of your meals rather than eat out for everything. Check vrbo.com.

We will be marrying in Maui and are using VRBO for the first week we are there. Getting a Condo from a nice couple who had great reviews and have owned their condo for over 10 years.  One thing to check if you email owners of condos, ask if they will take a lower price, ours did.
The second week we did the same Costco deal that MrsLiggett7 is doing. We have 7 nights booked, with ocean view, breakfast each day, $200 resort credit, two for one couples massage, dinner cruise, luau, and car. We upgraded the car to a convertible and the total came to $2550. This didn't include air as we will already be there for our wedding. We figure we will eat a big breakfast, snack for lunch and then we already have dinner for 2 nights with the cruise and luau so we will just have to budget for those extra 5 dinners.
  • Unfortunately, I do not think that there are any AI in Hawaii.  We went to Hawaii for out honeymoon and stayed on two different islands.  On Moloka'i we stayed in a hotel and on Maui we stayed in a condo.  The condo was great, we bought food and were able to cook right in the condo which saved a ton of money.  I do recommend getting a condo or a hotel with a kitchenette.  We also did a lot of activities and excursions that had your meals included which was wonderful!  Good luck and you will have a blast! Hawaii is amazing!!!!!

  • There are not all inclusive resorts in Hawaii.  I second previous posters' recommendations for Costco Travel.  They are amazing.  I've also used Pleasant Holidays and had good luck and good prices from them as well.  AAA uses/recommends Pleasant Holidays.  If you shop around you may be able to find a hotel package that will either give you a dollar amount credit each day of your stay that you can use for food/drinks or at the spa.  Some other deals also offer breakfast and/or dinner as part of a special rate.  I've found it never hurts to ask if you are booking over the phone or when you check in.  The worst they can say is "no."
