BBQ or Salsa Jars for FAVORS - HELP

Hi Ladies

I am getting married in FL next month and had planned on having Iron Works BBQ sauce jars delivered to Miami to give them as favors.  Well we called too late because now they are redesigning their jars and raising the price.

Do any of you have suggestions on inexpensive jars of bbq sauce or salsa I can look into that are from Texas?

Thanks!!!
Marissa

Not sure on the price for Stubbs BBQ sauce. Not sure if you would consider Rudys BBQ sauce as cheap but they do ship their sauce if you want. You could do one jar per family/ couple to cut down on cost if you aren't already doing that.

we looked into bbq sauce and salsa as well, but were not able to find anything that was reasonable.  most bottles/jars were on the larger size and therefore $$.  we thought about hot sauce (smaller), but then couldn't find one that we loved or considered representative of us/ATX.  anyway, i do remember some ladies on this board buying in bulk and rebottling the BBQ sauce into smaller containers.  not sure how they went about labels (personalized?), but this could be an option if you're into DYI and still have some time.

I have thought about rebottling but then I have to worry about the expiration date, making sure the top is sealed right and other stuff.  I have looked at Stubbs, Rudys, etc but their case packages are expensive.  Iron Works' cases of 12 were about $25 for a 12 ounce and now they are going to 16 ounces for over $30.

It's not exactly BBQ sauce, but we're using a company named Texas Choice for our wedding favors.  We're doing their snack mix in a cute gable box that is chocolate brown with customized labels in brown & blue (our wedding colors). Their products are some of my favs!  We've tried just about everything they sell and it's all delicious!

Not sure if you are in Austin... have you tried going to HEB to see if they have the old design on their shelves?

I have no idea what their prices would be to ship, but my company has ordered salsa to give as Christmas gifts for our clients from Sanderson Specialty Foods. It's an austin company and the salsa is great.

I'm going in a different direction with my suggestion here...but what if your caterer made breakfast tacos and handed them out at the end of the night as favors?  We're doing that...we figured after a night of dancing and boozing, a little greasy treat would hit the spot.  Guests can eat it right then and there or reheat it in the morning.  That way you wouldn't have to worry about packing and shipping something, and breakfast tacos are VERY Austin-y.

Our caterer is making one egg and bacon breakfast taco per person, with one little thing of salsa, and I'm giving them brown bags with a stamp of our monogram to put them in.  They're charging me $1.50 per taco, which seems reasonable enough to me.

Otherwise, with the salsa, we often buy Joe T. Garcia's at HEB and it's always very cheap but super yummy.  That's from a Dallas restaurant...maybe you can go online and see if you can order a case.  BBQ sauce...have you checked with the Salt Lick?
