Is there an area in San Diego you'd like to stay in?

Almost any casual dinner place with host a large group.

If you are in the central area, check out Acapulco in old town.  They have a lovely terrace that over looks old town.  Yummy mexican food and not formal at all.

If you're looking for a non-restaurant setting, we're doing ours at Petco Park during a Padres game :-)  They have several areas to rent for groups.

We're doing ours at Phil's BBQ. Their pricing is very reasonable and their food is GOOD. Contact Chad Glidewell 619.814.0056

We've been struggling with our rehearsal dinner as well because the rehearsal is at 11am. Have you thought about having it at someone's house? Less expensive and more intimate with out the time resttraints. Just an idea! Good luck!

I love Basic. It's a very funky restaurant and their food is so good! Plus they are great at accommodating large parties.

Thanks everyone for all of the great recommendations!  We ended up going with West Coast Tavern in North Park, on University.  It's a place we love going to and contacted the GM, Bobby, about large parties.  He's been very accommodating and we're super excited.  If you like Hapy Hour, go check thiers out!  yum!
