Cake!!

My sister has become my official wedding planner and has assigned FI and I to find our cake while we are taking next week off of work.  We have decided to do a small tiered cake for pictures and cutting and then sheet cakes.  We have about $300 for 150 guests.  Which bakeries should we be checking out?  Any to avoid?  I appreciate your input :)

If you are just looking to do a small cake, you make want to look at costco, sams club or believe it or not wal-mart.  If you don't want to go that route, try checking out sweet treats by Jeff. He has a lot of good reviews and is decently priced.

Buttercream does cakes for 3.65 a slice, but their sheet cakes are only 1.95 a slice. Otherwise im not sure how much they cost but byerle's has pretty amazing cakes.

I love Queen of Cakes, they have a lot of options and everything always tastes great, we go there for birthday cakes and special occasions.

I would avoid Gateaux Inc only for the pure fact that they only do tiered cakes and they are extremely expensive.

Kowalski's or Lunds/Byerly's is another place you could check.  Kowalski's has fantastic cakes and do weddings.

Ditto Jeff Perila.  Freaking AMAZING. Delicious and great prices.  Super quick to respond to questions.

We seriously only had a few cupcakes left at the end of the night, people LOVED them.

Totally agree.  And they also told us that they do NOT do sheet cakes, God Forbid.  We met with them too and I was appalled by how snotty the guy was.  Plus, I didn't think their cake was ANYTHING special.  It wasn't bad, but it was no Sweet Treat by Jeff, that's for sure!!!  We are going with cupcakes from Jeff and I am so ridiculously excited to serve them at our wedding... I keep trying to find excuses to order a dozen or so for something so I can get my fix before September!!

I was going to suggest cosco if you are doing a small cake.  They do a good job and it will be inexpensive.

They must have changed it? I am doing part sheet cake for mine. I dealt with a lady and she was very friendly. Maybe I can do sheet cake because I wasn't required to use buttercream? Hmmmmm im not sure but she was the one who suggested sheet cake.

Check out Key's Cafe.  They have great cake with awesome fillings.

Costco also has really good cake too!

I just ordered my cake from Keys. I only got a simple single tier cake for pictures and cutting with sheet cakes for the guests, but it was less than $1 per person and delicious!
