Signature Drink

Did you/are you having one? I want to do one for me and one for FI, I'm thinking mine will be a variation of a margarita (my favorite drink!) I'd love to hear recipes that other people are using

We are planning on doing one.. If we do one for me and one for him my favorite drink is a vodka tonic, so I guess I can maybe do a twist on that. I have researched recipes and haven't found anything that I like. There is one that is called the blushing bride which has: peach schnapps, champagne, and grenadine in it. If we wind up doing just one since our theme is rustic we probably will just do an arnold palmer (iced tea, lemonaide and vodka).

We are doing one, an Arnold Palmer with vodka. Since we are getting married at a bar, the drinks will be served in mason jars and I plan on buying some super cute straws off of Etsy that match our colors. Kind of cheesy, but we really love Arnold Palmers!!

I think we will probably do two as well. My Dad doesn't want hard alcohol, just beer and wine, so I think having just two drinks during cocktail hour would be a good compromise. Then he doesn't have to worry about people doing shots and getting trashed. I like Champaign drinks and both of us drink scotch...dunno how that will go

I'm guess a fruity ish drink for "me" and a more old school non fruity drink as his.

I found a drink called "something blue" which has hypnotic white whine and gingerale in it so I'd like to do that one for my something blue and it could probably double for FIs drink because his fav color is blue. I also found a purple margarita recipe!

We actually didn't choose one but my venue made one for us that they put a little sign at the bar. I don't even remember what it was, but it was delicious.

Not cheesy!!! I am also getting grey striped straws, and I found a DIY template to make flags for them. The template is blank so you can put whatever you want on the flags... One side will say Eat, Drink and Be Married the other side will have out date and our intials... they will look like this pic but our flag will be the color pink...ps I love that you guys will have mason jars for your drinks... I wanted this, but our venue does not have that option!

We did two signature drinks. "The Bronx Bomber" for him since he is a Yankee fan and "The Green Monster" for me since I'm a Sox fan. Couldn't tell you what was in them but they were a hit. His was blue and mine was green.

We are doing a favortie of ours called a blue whaler (from Nantucket - blueberry vodka, club soda, splash of lemonade or sprite. We have to bring in our own vodka since they don't have blueberry, but I want it, so we'll do it.

I renamed if the something blue for the day of!

We are doing a peach vodka lemonade. We are also getting the light peach striped straws to go in the drinks!

Christine - did you ask if you could supply your own? I was thinking about asking that but am not sure I want to spend the money.

You could contact Rick at Emily's catering and see if he would rent the mason jars to you that weekend. If he isn't doing a rustic wedding that day I bet he would! Otherwise they would just be sitting in his restaurant/ktichen. Also, he has a friend that rents out antique, mis-matching plates. I don't know how much they are, but I am considering renting them.

We're doing the Something Blue! I had a bartender make it the other weekend when I was out, and it was good!! So cute too, served in a champagne flute.

Whitney--I have not asked, I also was not sure if I wanted to spend the extra money! I was thinking about just getting the "redneck mason jars" for the bridal party so atleast we can have them.

Corkey-- I am sending you the PM now

I might contact him to see how much it is to rent and if he is willing to, but again not sure if I want to spend the money...I kinda like the idea of having them for the b-party.

Purple (like a violet) is our main color, with pink and silver accents. I *really* want a purple drink. Trouble is, I just called our venue and there is no colored alcohol included with our package. The only thing I can do is provide food coloring...because I don't want to shell out extra money for certain types of alcohol.

Chambord is a purplish color and that is included in the package. I'll look a little more and see if I can come up with something.

Purple cotton candy and grape puckers! Do it!!!!!! It's what we are probably doing... Or blue and pink cotton candy sold for 1 at the dollar tree and u mix vodka, grape puckers, pineapple juice and cranberry... It's a martini... Pour over cotton candy...
