Mmmm..Cake!

I went to my first cake tasting today!  It was abit overwhelming with all the varieties of cake and then the frostings and fillings!  But in the end, I decided if I go with this cake woman, I'd have 4 tiers.  2 tiers would be Cookies n creme (white cake sandwiched between 2 layers of chocolate cake filled with cookies n creme mousse).  2 layers would be "My Cake" (lemon cake sandwiched between white cake filled with lemon cheesecake filling and raspberry coulis).  I LOVED the lemon cake.  FI will LOVE the cookies n Creme.

It is covered in fondant and has some fondant "ribbon" around the base of each of the 4 tiers.  Besides some "swiss dots"  or "scrolls" there is no other adornment besides some sunflowers on top.

Cake feeds 125, includes delivery and set up.  I would also get a "honeymoon cake" to take and eat at the hotel after the reception and an anniversary cake, already boxed and ready to go.  Cost is 6.50 per person for a grand total of $853.  I'm not sure if her pricing was high or if this is typical for the area.  Any thoughts?

We have a very simple cake to feed 130.  It's 3 tiered, 2 flavors all with the same filling and buttercream frosting.  (I don't like fondant.)  She's just doing simple fondant ribbons around the base of each tier in our coordinated wedding colors.  Price will end up being around $500ish including delivery and set-up.

To be fair, I had a 20% off coupon for her, but the original price per person was $5.

$6.50 is about right for this area.  When I was looking I found from about $5.50-$7.50.

Our cake was $7.50/ per slice but was a bit more elaborate than yours and doesn't include the extras of the anniversary cake and honeymoon cake.

I don't think it's crazy priced, but there is certainly cheaper out there. If you love it, and it's in the budget, go for it :-)
