Memorial Park- Riverside

Hey ladies! Im sorry that I disappeared soon after I started posting a couple months ago, between my fiancee being home (military...) and some other stuff, wedding planning was set aside!

I have a question though! I thought there was another bride getting married at Memorial park in riverside-Jacksonville, but cant remember who! I was wondering what your plans were for music, seating, and decoration...

Welcome back! I'm getting married in Memorial Park (ceremony only). For seating we're renting white wooden chairs from Beachview Tent Rentals (which now that I look at the contract is actually in GA). I don't really know much about the company...it's just the one that my wedding planner uses/recommends for chairs so she placed the order.

For music we hired a friend of a friend to play acoustic guitar during the ceremony. I'd looked into musicians in the area and they were all charging more than I wanted to spend so I started asking around and found someone that I knew I could trust and wasn't going to charge me an arm and a leg. He doesn't usually do wedding ceremonies but he performs all over Jax.

As for decoration, we're using a black arch which will have flowers on it and cranes hanging from it but other than that we are going to keep it simple. We may hang small bags of birdseed on the backs of the chairs but I don't think there will be anything else.

Let me know if you have any other questions!!

Oh thank you! One more question is sound... I don't know the size of your wedding, but are you planning on any kind of sound amplification? I was hoping to do the same with music, having a couple friends play guitar. Im thinking really simple on the decorations too, at first I didn't want any, but then i realized i didn't want to be standing up there with no kind of "this is the alter area" designation =)

We're expecting about 140 guests...I was worried about amplification but my dad plays acoustic guitar and he said we probably wouldn't need any. I'm going to touch base with my guitarist to double check today though (thanks for the reminder, that's now #175 on my to-do list for today).
