I'm trying to keep up to date with all the information they're releasing. I heard that a police officer and one other has been killed. I hope the apprehend the suspects soon!

Prayers to everyone there as well as friends and families of the victims!

This is so sad. I read an article said that the students aren't in class today because exams start tomorrow so hopefully there aren't many people on campus

The Collegiate Times seems to have the most info...they're pushing a lot of Tweets right now:

FWIW, UVa suggested that everyone stay off the VT website so students, staff, and familly members can have access. Their site has been slammed, probably by all the people googling for info.

Twitter can handle the traffic just fine.

Welcome Julie. Its getting pretty bad up there. Its like the entire town has gone crazy. My heart goes out the family of the police office who was shot, and if it was an innocent bystander who was also shot, for his family.

I have many former students there adn my daughter's BFF is there. Hugs and prayers continue to go to the VT family and the entire community. I was most relieved when all my former students had checked in on FB and my DD BFF check in as well ...
