Central Wisconsin Questions on caterer and dinner style

Hi all,
I am from Kenosha, planning a wedding in Wausau.  Having my reception at Stoney Creek Inn.  Have not attended a wedding there, but love the decor.   I have to choose a caterer and am trying to decide between two

Bobs Catering-only offers buffet and family style.  Would not do buffet

The Rose Garden-offers all styles but is 2.50 more per person than Bobs

Anyone know anything about these cateres?  How is there food/service?

Also having major issues deciding if I want to do a family style service or plated.  I think the venue is more apt to a plated style/formal style.  However my parents really want a family style dinner because it is more relaxed, my family who is most of the people coming are not used to plated and of course it is a bit cheaper.  Since they are paying for the meal I feel like I should go with what they want.  I just want it to be really nice as my fiance's family is from chicago and used to a plated style dinner.  Maybe i'm over thinking this?  Any opinions on family vs. plated?

Thanks!

I have heard good reviews about bob's catering- my cousin is actually having them cater her wedding at stoney creek next summer.  Funny you say stoney creek, I was just there for a wedding this past saturday...they did a beautiful job.  They also served family style.  I wouldn't think too much into family style.  People can take what they want and take more of what they want, when they want it.  Theres ups and downs to plated.  Its an "elegant" way of serving your guests but sometimes guests like to choose what they'd like to eat.  If I were you I would go with Bob's...its great food & $2.50 extra per person can add up quickly! good luck & happy wedding planning!!!

Thank you so much for the review!  I was in Wausau this last Saturday and was going to stop by Stoney to see it set up for a wedding.  How was it?!  When are you getting married and where?  Or where did you, it looks like you may already be married?  Any other Wausau reviews or suggestions?  Thanks! :)
