Getting in Shape

Had 1st fitting, wedding in 6 wks...now what?

I had my first fitting yesterday and despite feeling very bloaty and generally tubby, my dress had to be taken IN probably an inch or two. I have another fitting in three weeks, and my last the week before the wedding, which is in six weeks (AH!).

So, I'm still a good ways away from my ultimate goal (20+ lbs) and even from my wedding goal (10lbs), but I feel kind of stuck at this point since I already had a fitting and the wedding is so close.

I'd really like to tone up my arms/shoulders/back since my dress is strapless, but I don't really want to get smaller elsewhere and screw up alterations, especially since my seamstress is crazy in demand and therefore very busy.

Should I just try to maintain? Shoot for five more pounds? Stop working out all together? Only do arm work outs? Any advice is appreciated!

  • I would increase your calories to a maintenance level, and do some lifting.  Take measurements to make sure you're not losing too many more inches in areas where the dress will be (bust, waist, hips).

  • Congratulations on the dress alterations!  I can understand wanting to tone your arms and back for the dress, I felt the same way.
I would suggest trying the Ultimate Wrap Pack that includes the body applicator and defining gel.  These tools will allow you to tighten tone and firm the areas you want to target!  Our products are made with all-natural, botanicals and the best part is you can do it in the comfort of your own home and it is very inexpensive compared to the spa!
You can cut the wrap to fit anywhere on your body you are looking to tighten and tone.  I have added a link to my website and I would be happy to talk through how this natural process works.  This package would be enough to wrap four times and use the gel daily and everyone will notice the difference on your wedding day!

    All my best
  • Wow, 45 lbs down!  That's great!  Definitely go into maintenance mode especially since you were feeling bloated for your fitting.

    Good luck!

  • Don't stop working out all together. Six weeks is just enough time to wreck havoc if you just let it all go.

Fine tune your program to target those areas you want to tone up a bit more (e.g. do some push ups before bed to help boost your results for nicely toned arms, shoulders, and chest.) Or get into a daily yoga routine to strengthen your back and overall flexibility, which will help you feel less bloated. You can also downshift your cardio to simple walking, in place of running, spinning, or using the eliptical.

You've got to stay on target. You've lost a significant amount of weight in a probably extended amount of time so just hang in there. It's about maintaining your overall measurements now, but you can still push for a little extra definition. Good luck!
