Hi Ladies,

Looking for recommendations on where to find mother of the groom dresses- I know of Sposabella and Chantilly's- any other recommendations in the mid-upper Cape area?

Thanks!

David's Bridal has a section of MOG and MOB dresses/attire.

There isn't a David's Bridal on Cape that I know of, but I wouldn't recommend Sposobella's, I know some people that had bad experiences there.  I would say your best bet would be to go off Cape.  You will have a much bigger selection and better prices too.

I have to disagree, I had a wonderful experience at Sposabella Bridal. My mother and my fiance's mother just got their dresses at Sposabella and they were wonderful. Going off Cape is ridiculous. If you want to spend $3.60 per gallon going to David's Bridal where there dresses are made in the worst factories in China, go ahead. Support local business, it is the smart and best thing to do. If you are getting married on CAPE COD, then SUPPORT CAPE COD!!!!

I am sorry, but I have a small craft boutique in Yarmouth, MA, and I am tired of eveyone supporting off Cape businesses. We are here for a reason. If you are that young and NIEVE, grow up and realize what is going on around you.

If you don't end up finding anything you like close by and you don't want to drive around you can try online too.  Once my mom had tried on some dresses and found styles she liked she ended up ordering a couple online from Nordstrom's and then just returned what she didn't want.  Lord and Taylor has a lot of nice dresses too.  Good Luck!

If you do end up going off Cape, Dress Express in Fall River has an impressive selection of MOB/MOG dresses of all types, sizes, fits, etc. They have an 18,000 sq ft showroom in one of the mills - new space for them, double the size of their old one. Love that place.

Sposabellas been amazing to work with!!!!!! I purchased not only my dress, but my BM's dresses and flower girl dress there as well. They have been so patient, kind and willing to work with me. I have a very elderly grandmother who wanted to see my dress/veil. They let me bring her into the shop on a busy weekend day, put on the dress, veil and shoes...the whole shebang and let me spend some quality time really getting to show her my favorite parts of my dress etc... I am so glad to give them my business. My grandmother thought they were so sweet she's planning on buying her dress from them too!

They're great and I highly rec. them.

I am glad to hear that other people have had positive experiences at Sposobella's, I guess this was a one time issue.  Also @CapeCodCarol, I am a FULL supporter of local businesses on the Cape and just because I recommended going off cape doesnt warrant that type of response from you.  Settle down.

I had an awful time at chantilly's (looking for my bridal dress). Im from the upper cape so my mom and Iended up driving about 25 min. to plymouth. She got her MOB dress at Hillary's bridal. The woman there was excellent to work with, I believe there is a website im sure you could just google it. I do recommend trying it out if you don't have luck with the few shops on cape.
