And the Wedding stress BEGINS!!!

Ugh. So I started looking at places back in October when we got engaged. The hotel I am using quoted me a $99 rate for my guests sleeping rooms. One of the reasons I picked the hotel. Of course, after we signed the contract AND I have emails speaking about that rate, now it's going up. The DOS is saying well the catering manager shouldn't have quoted you that rate.. well that's their problem .. they need to speak to their catering manager and tell her she can't quote rates. LOL Right or wrong? Sorry I'm just venting. I knew it was too good to be true that now things are starting to go wrong. I told them I am ready to take my whole Wedding and go somewhere else. Yell

I'm so sorry! If they signed a contract with the rate, then they should honor it. Do you mind if I ask which hotel it is? If it's a national chain, perhaps you can try complaning to the national customer service using your emails and contract as evidence.

If you have it in writing, even if it isn't in the contract, you can still fight it. Anything in writing is still considered a contract. Especially if you have a signature, even an electronic signature or typed signature in an e-mail.

I agree with pp...if you have a contract, ESPECIALLY if it is signed, then its their problem not yours! I would fight that for sure, they can't give you a contract and then try to change the rate!

Thanks girls! It is not in the contract. I probably could gaurantee the rooms but if I can't then I get charged. But like I said, I do have emails from the girl. I will try their corporate offices and see what I can do :] Thanks for the advice. My Dad said not to really let that bother me but still it's the point. I already started telling a few people not a lot but a few the $99 rate. 90% of my people that will hopefully be coming, are from NY.

Hey girls. Here's an update on this topic ..

I called corporate after emailing them a few days ago and spoke with a really nice guy there. I forwarded him the emails from the Catering Sales manager about the rate I was originally quoted. He said I shouldn't have a problem getting it. Long story short.. the GM of the hotel emailed me and honored it :] Thanks for your help!

Thank you! They are going to set up a room block anyways but I won't have to gaurantee any rooms :]
