One Year Ago Today

Kevin got down on one knee at Miles Winery on Seneca Lake and asked me to be his wife...

My response?  A teary, jumping, super excited "Oh my god... are you kidding me?  Is this really happening?... YES!!"

and I really thought my response would have been much more graceful.  lol.  Typical me.

So... looking back on this day a year ago, it's kind of bittersweet.  That thrill, the surprise, the butterflies and excitement.  In a way I am sad that the anticipation of "when the heck is he ever going to ask" is over.  I mean... I'm really looking forward to the wedding and anticipating that as well....

But there is just something about a proposal that is exhillerating and puts you on cloud 9 for the rest of the day/week.  Once it's over... it's a moment that can never truly be relived.  It's wonderful to turn a page and get ready for the next step and the excitement of walking down the aisle, saying our vows, sharing our first dance, etc etc... I'm sure that will be another thrilling, butterflies moment too..... but for some reason I can't help but look back and miss that day... that feeling.

Does anyone else kind wish they could do it again?  Just for that rush, the surprise, the bliss, the excitement??  (not so much the planning and wedding drama that follows)...

I hate how my fiance proposed and  it makes me sad that I wil never get that romantic proposal I dreamed of.  But Im glad I get to spend the rest of my life with him.  And there will be more of those kind of moments.  babies, new jobs, etc.

Oh man, If I could do it over again I would have been more excited and less of a biitch.I was so rude to him from the second we walked in the pizza shop. I also kinda wish he actually asked as well as having it written on the pizza b/c well I was too busy being a biitch and commenting on him being on his knee on a dirty floor to notice the writing.

But the excitement after I realized what was going on...Id kill for that again!

I wish I could re-live the proposal too.  It all happened so fast.  I knew he was going to do it that night, but the actual moment of down on one knee, popping the question, was over in a second!  In movies, it always seems like it takes longer than it took in real life.  And we were just so happy afterwards!  I'm going to assume that it feels like that on your wedding day too, but better, so we all still have that to look forward to.

I wish FI was better at keeping secrets!  I sooo expected it.  Don't get me wrong, I was super excited anyway but would have preferred if I hadn't seen it coming.

My proposal was a year ago... today? two days from now? (I should know this...) It was a TOTAL surprise and I totally freaked out and had no idea what to say or how to react... Unfortunately for me, he recorded the whole thing so I got to relive it 5 million times with our family and friends.... I couldn't stop cursing or jumping around or flailing...

If you want a laugh, feel free to search on youtube: rita and patrick proposal

AND THEN, on our 3 yr anniversary last friday when i got out of work there was an easter basket on the ground when i came out... that i actually just walked past and then stopped cause i noticed it said my name on it... and there were plastic eggs going around the building... which led to him on a knee with a coffee table and two chairs set up behind him. he said, "if i could propose all over again i would." so cute!

he made tuna kabobs, which is what he made for the first date that he cooked for me. it was really cute and unexpected! at first i was in a frenzy and a little like... "i dont have time for this!?" when i was going around collecting the eggs cause i got out of work late and thought i was going to be late to the regional bus terminal... but i lightened up when i saw him and the dinner. :) and then we ate fast... so i didn't miss my bus! haha
