Invitations...almost there.

So out of our 91 invitations we have 12 left to address and stamp (we're still collecting addresses from FI family, AHHHHHHH, how hard is it to get that done? /mini-rant over), but the others are completed and need to be sealed.  I'm having butterflies about sealing and just dropping them in a box at the post office (we can't get there during the day to have them hand canceled and I'd rather they just be off and gone).

Anyone else get all wiggy-tummy and nervous when it came time to ACTUALLY mail them?! />__< Feeling so ridiculous!

  • Congratulations!

I still have around twenty more invitations to address. I can't wait to mail them out in the next couple of weeks!

  • Congrats!

I'm right there with you...I've got about 90% of the invites put together.  I didn't seal or stamp (except for stamping the response envelope) them yet either, that seems so final! I feel like I need to do one final inspection before they're all stamped and sealed...yeah, I"m type A LOL!

  • I have five more to address - had actually already printed out the addresses for three of them but have since found out that they are wrong and waiting on the addresses for the other two.  I'm also waiting on my postage from zazzle to get here.  I'm hoping to get them all out by the end of next week.

    What does hand cancelling do?

  • I haven't even started addressing my invitations - procrastination, party of me.

Hand canceling means that the mail can't go through the sorting machine either due to envelope shape (square) or bulky contents (ribbons and bows in invitations can cause this).  It's just a stamp on the envelope for sorting purposes.

From what I've heard, no it does not, in our case it's just an issue of getting them to the post office during operating hours since we both work 8-5pm, so no way to get there and no ability to take time off. Oh well, they will survive, they're just flat cards anyway :-P

<div>In our area, some post offices are open on Saturdays or even have late hours where they are open til 6 or 7.  You might want to check it out if you want to go that route.</div>
