Happy Nurses Week to my fellow nurses!!

I know there are several of you that are also nurses or are in nursing school. It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse. You get pooped on (happened to me today), peed on, puked on, bled on, yelled at, all while you are holding your bladder or starving because you skipped your lunch. Your legs swell up at the end of the day from being on your feet all day. Yet you're expected to keep a smile on your face and make it back the next day with just as much energy and enthusiasm.

Thank you to all the nurses and nursing assistants! We rock!

I'm doing this for my friends and co-workers and would like to extend it to all of you. I do Mary Kay and as a thank you, i'm offering 25% off all orders this week to those in the nursing profession. Thanks! You too! But, I couldn't imagine doing anything else...except, maybe, being a professional golfer. ETA- I just had to have spider veins on my legs lasered off from, what the doctor says, standing on my feet for 12 hours-another perk of the job! I'm 25 and feel way too young to be doing that:/

I just finished first year of nursing school! Happy Nurses Week.

And Brittney, I already have spider veins, I can only imagine what my legs are going to look like when I actually start working....or get pregnant. Ugh. At 25, we should not have to deal with this!

Happy Nurses week to you all! I work Labor and Delivery...and hell hath no furry than that of a woman in labor. Yikes. However, I can't see myself doing anything else. I brag about my job all the time because frankly, it's awesome

I have one year of nursing school left and I cannot wait to be done! We got free pizza and played yard games for prizes on Friday in honor of nurses week... they were a bit early for somereason, lol.

This far most of my experience has been with geriatric patients, plus I work at an assited living facility. And I LOVE them, always have. I am having a hard time deciding how to stay in the field of geriatrics with my RN, so haven't really loved any of my clinical experiences.

Right now tho, I am in our OB rotation and I am loving it. I got to see a c-section last week, twins! Amazing, and pregnancy amazes me, lol. I am finally feeling like I might have found something that I actually want to do, because I have hated the hospitals thus far!

To be honest, I had absolutely NO clue what I wanted to do upon graduation until my second to last semester of nursing school. I decided to do my final internship in Labor and Delivery...now you can't keep me away. I absolutely love my job and can't imagine doing anything else :)
