I am looking for overized martini glasses preferably about 3 feet tall. Not sure if they even make them that big, but if anyone has ever seen them or where i can find them pleaaase let me know. We are looking to use them as center pieces and put fish in them :) Thanks!

Re: large martini glasses?

  • save on crafts have them. may I discourage the fish though. It seems to me it could potentially be dangerous for the annimals. what about flowers or sea rocks? also if you do do fish don't feed seafood, I've been to a wedding with dying goldfish that served salmon, and I'd watched finding nemo the week before (shudder )

I have seen them at Hobby Lobby and Michaels...JoAnn Fabrics as well I believe....I concur about the fish----sounds great in theory but the logistics prove otherwise.....not sure but I am guessing your theme must be seaside or beach?  We are using margarita glasses as a favor (got an incredible deal on them) because our signature drink will be frozen margaritas.  Guests will be greeted at the escort table with their glass------a 3D faux lime will "rim" the glass and will be printed with their name and table number and themed monogram......a matching coaster will await them at their table to "save" a spot for them to place their glass.

These are pretty cheap and they come in various colors.  But, please please don't put fish in them.  Flowers or glowing led lights with rocks or colored marbles or candles would be very pretty.
  • I saw some at Garden Ridge approx $15 ea, i wanted to do that but fill with colored beads, but decided to use what they had at my venue.

I do have a tall one and short one you can borrow, if u r in the Houston area :)

Agreed, although for a slightly different reason that what you were thinking, I'm sure.  I went to a wedding where they used live goldfish centerpieces.  Yes, it was original.  Yes, it looked cool.  But then the groom dared the best man to eat one.  And he did.  NOT exactly what the bride had in mind.

So my advice is, unless you want your reception to turn into a frat party, you may want to rethink the live fish...
