pictures + hair and makeup

Hi!

Any ideas about how long hair and makeup can take?  I haven't done trials yet... but just trying to get an estimate per person.  I want to be able to get an idea of when the photographer should come.

Also, do most people have pics of them getting ready with the hair and makeup artists?

    The general rule of thumb 1.5 hours for yourself and an hour for each BM.  I would pad this a little though--I took almost 2 hours just for myself.  Then allow 20 minutes to dress, put your jewelry and headpiece on, etc.  This way you won't be rushed.

    Your photographer should be able to help you with your timeline.  I think most brides do opt for "getting ready" pics--that time is really exciting and often some of the best candids come during getting ready.

    It depends on your hair! For my wedding I have such thick hair that it took about 2 hours. My bridesmaids who had shorter and finer hair took less than an hour. Going in to photograph brides, I usually touch base with the  makeup artist and whichever maid of honor is in charge with the timeline so I can get to the bride getting ready (who is usually the last person to go).
